RESOLVED: The assessment and display issue with Polio vaccine has been resolved.
This is a follow-up message regarding assessment issues involving polio vaccine and how it was inaccurately displayed and forecasted in MCIR.
The first issue identified that polio was not being assessed or counted as part of the MCIR record on the childcare side if it was given as a combination vaccine. This issue has been fixed with a MCIR release on 11-13-24.
Another known issue was that polio was not displaying the status and was displayed under “Other Administrations” in the MCIR record. This issue was fixed with the MCIR release on 11-17-24.
Thank you for your patience and help in reporting these errors.

Attention Immunization Partners:
- There is currently an assessment issue in MCIR regarding Polio vaccine.
- Polio is also not assessing correctly for reporting immunizations in childcare facilities.
- If you have not yet closed out of your childcare reporting period, please refrain from doing so until this issue has been resolved.
- We are working hard to correct this issue and will notify partners when resolved.
- Some patients may still need immunizations unrelated to this MCIR error. Continue to review all records closely by following the CDC Recommended Child and Adolescent Immunization Schedule when you have any questions. Recommended Child and Adolescent Immunization Schedule for ages 18 years or younger; 2024 U.S.
